George A. Geldart NIXON, NB - George Austin Geldart, 89, of Nixon passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Nixon Settlement, he was a son of the late Harvey and Adella (Collier) Geldart. George was a retired carpenter, devoted husband, father and proud grandfather and a faithful servant for his Lord. He was an active member of the Nixon United Baptist Church and a former deacon and attended the area men's church breakfasts, Bible studies and special meetings. Survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Eileen Burtt; daughters, Faye Quackenbush (Harvey), Riverview, Donna Tingley (Ralph) and Cheryl Douthwright (Sydney) of Colpitts Settlement; daughter-in-law, Lavina Geldart, Salisbury; sister, Laura Smith, Nashwaaksis; 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren , nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son, Austin; daughter, Dorothy Douthwright; son-in- law, Floyd McCormick; grandsons, Kerry and Barry Douthwright; brothers, Harold and Roy; sisters, Edna Newcomb, Hazel Hopper, Kathleen Geldart and Gladys Fenton. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and where the Funeral will be held in the Chapel Saturday, March 18 at 2 p.m. Interment at the Nixon Cemetery at a later date.
