Edgar Hachey Sr. 1914-2006 Edgar Henry Joseph Hachey Sr. aged 92 of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home Inc., formerly of Shediac Cape, NB, passed away on April 27, 2006. Born on January 3, 1914 in Bathurst, NB, he was the eldest son of the late Harry Hachey and Elizabeth (Godin). He was a retired CNR brakeman/conductor and a union representative. Edgar attended Our Lady of Mercy Church at Pointe-du-Chene and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Curling, golfing, square dancing, skating, gardening, and traveling throughout Canada and the US were his most enjoyable pastimes, along with wintering in Sebring, Florida for 23 years. Edgar is survived by his wife Margaret (Berridge) of Royal Court, Riverview, NB, formerly of Shediac Cape; two sons Edgar Jr. (Marguerite) of Pointe-du-Chene, and Eric (Patricia) of Pembroke, ON; one daughter Marie Syrie (Ron) of Petewawa, ON; one sister Kathleen Hennessey (Everett) of New Port Ritchey, FL; one brother Harry Jr. (Vivian) of Hamilton, ON; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Edgar is also survived by Margaret's children, John Berridge and David Berridge (Colleen), Joan Lewis (David), and Sheila Blagrave (Mark) and their nine children and one grandchild. Edgar was predeceased by his first wife Leona (Theriault), his sons Blair Joseph (Doriel) of Morrison Island, PQ, and Donald (Denise) of Moose Creek, ON; three brothers Gerald (Doreen) of Toronto, ON, Adrian of Bathurst, NB, and Francis (Lillian) of Hamilton, ON; two sisters Madeleine Wallace (Richard) of Calgary, AB, and Marjorie Hill (James) of Perth, Australia. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Pointe-du-Chene, NB at a later date. Interment will be held at the Old Shediac Road Cemetery.
