BISHOP, Venus Gloria Cavell (nee Cooper) April 29, 1934 — March 6, 2009 — Passed peacefully away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Harbour Lodge Nursing home, Carbonear, after a lengthy illness, with her loving family at her bedside, Venus Bishop of Green’s Harbour, aged 74 years. Predeceased by daughter, Cavell; parents Victor and Phoebe Cooper; sister Joy; brother Wavell, and mother and father-in-law Pearl and Alfred Reid. Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories: her husband Allan; daughters Glenda Wareham (George), Green’s Harbour; Gail Way (John), Harbour Grace; son Tony (Rita) Green’s Harbour; her grandchildren Justin Wareham (Krista), Mark Wareham (Felicia), Shane Wareham (Rita), Nicholas Bishop and Jessica Way; two great-grandchildren Taylor and Madison. Also lovingly remembered by sisters: Jessie Brace (Fred), Green’s Harbour; Verna Vaters, Green’s Harbour; brother Varrick Cooper (Margie) Mount Pearl; sister-in-law Hazel Cooper and brothers-in-law Lemuel Cranford and Stanley Bishop (Nellie), as well as a number of nephews, nieces, other extended family and friends. Resting at the Salvation Army Citadel, Green’s Harbour Corps, on Friday, March 6 from 8 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from the Salvation Army Citadel, Green’s Harbour on Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery.
