Hazel Mae Ward 1924 - 2006 SACKVILLE, NB - Hazel M. Ward (Parson), of Sackville, NB, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on March 7, 1924 in Sackville, NB, Hazel was immensely involved in all facets of community service. She volunteered from the infancy of the Sackville Music Festival in the 1950's for 21 continuous years to the most recent Communities in Bloom committee work. Her leadership was admired and flawlessly documented with organizations such as IODE, Sackville United Church of Canada, Girl Guides, Chignecto Presbytery for United Church of Canada, Sackville Garden Club and many Community Special Events Committees. Along with this volunteer work she spent tireless hours developing, planting and nurturing her gardens at Churchill Ave., her home for 57 years. Her annual Christmas Scavenger Hunt, enjoyed by many for over 25 years, trademarked hosting and entertaining countless guests at her home. Hazel will be sadly missed by her three children, Kent (Susan) Ward, Chris Ward (Janine) and Johanne (Ron) Blackburn; daughter-in-law, Anne Ward; her grandchildren, Peter (Lana) Ward and their two children Colby and Molli, Michele (Jerry) Parsons and their two children Cody and Morgan, and Sean (Lori) Ward and Alana Ward (Nick); sister-in-law, Anne Ward; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald H. Ward. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Campbell's Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at the Sackville United Church on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at 3 PM with Rev. Gail Hopkirk officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Hazel may be made to the Sackville United Church, Canadian Cancer Society Research Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
