Lenore P. (Bent) (Carey) Carter SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Lenore P. (Bent) (Carey) Carter, widow of Lloyd G. Carter, occurred on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS, on October 16, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Walter D. and E. Maude (MacKay) Bent. She was the last surviving member of her family. She attended the Sackville United Church and was a member of the United Church Women for many years. She was also a past member of the Sackville Curling Club. A devoted wife and mother, she took pride in her home and property. Lenore graduated from Amherst Regional High School and St. Charles Commercial School. She has resided in Sackville for much of the last 70 years. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Carey) Read and her husband, Melbourne; two granddaughters, Krista and Alison; and two great grandsons, Tyler and Ethan; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bent of Amherst, Aileen Bent of Port Huron, Michigan and Edith Carey of Toronto. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Aubrey, Norman and Russell; and her sisters, Isador (infancy), Harriett Rivers, Ella Tower, Lillian Raynor, Dorothy Kolker and Patricia Ward. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St, Sackville, NB (364-1300) with visiting hours on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, May 22, 2006 at 11 am, Rev. Gail Hopkirk officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.
