Grant V. Brooks
Grant V. Brooks Grant V. Brooks, 83, of Moncton with his wife, Evelyn at his side, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Born in White Sands, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Sydney and Clara (Penney) Brooks. Grant was a retired Interior Decorator (Grant V. Brooks Interior Decorator) over 60 years service. He was a member of Mount Royal United Church, Keith Lodge # 23 F & AM, Frank H. Tingley O.E.S. # 5, Luxor Shrine Temple Saint John, The Moncton Shrine Club and Moncton Legion Branch # 6. Grant was a veteran of the II World War, served overseas 1940-45 in Continental Europe with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion Canadian Army and with the British Airborne Battalion. He was Vice President of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion Association and a member of the British Airborne Association. Grant and his wife Evelyn took great pride in arranging for Maritime and National reunions for the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. Grant enjoyed walking and spending quality time with his friends and his wife. Grant will be sadly missed by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn (Ritchie) Brooks; sister, Pansy Heron, Pictou, NS; brother, Bruce (Juliette), Etobicoke, ON and PE. Several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Violet and his brother, Victor. No visitation by request. Moncton Legion # 6 Memorial Service Friday 1:15pm, prior to the Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Friday, June 2, 2006, at 1:30pm. Rev.
