Whyman Russell Phinney 1925 - 2006 SACKVILLE, N.B.- Whyman R. Phinney, age 81, of Sackville, N.B., passed away on June 15, 2006 at his cottage at Hick's Beach, N.B. Born in Midgic, N.B. on May 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Russell and Susie (Estabrooks) Phinney. Whyman was employed at Enamel and Heating for 35 years, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Sackville, past member of the Sackville Kinsmen Club and a present member of K-40. Whyman always enjoyed his time spent in the summers at the beach and with his family. Whyman will be sadly missed by his daughter, Donna (Kenny) Gouchie of Amherst, N.S.; five sisters, Rachel (Eber) Barkhouse, of Moncton, N.B., Madeline Ward of Sackville, N.B., Joan (Bobby) LeBlanc of Moncton, N.B., Sharon Estabrooks of Moncton, N.B. and Sheila (Wayne) Sears of Port Elgin, N.B.; granddaughter, Michelle (Ernie) Landry of Amherst, N.S. and grandson, Paul (Joelene) Gouchie of Calgary, AB; four great grandchildren, Samantha Landry, Kyrsten Landry, Felicia Landry and Jessica Landry.; special friend, Shirley Babcock of Amherst, N.S., many nieces and nephews. Whyman was predeceased by his wife, Eileen Phinney; two brothers, Garnet Phinney and Charles Phinney; sister, Sybil Hicks and two children in infancy. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at 3 PM from the Main Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Barry Todd officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. A time of fellowship and remembrance will be shared following the burial at Campbell's Funeral Home, Sackville, N.B. Donations in memory of Whyman may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society , Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of ones choice.
