Ida (LeBlanc) Babineau
Ida Mary Matilda Babineau 1917-2006 SACKVILLE, N.B. - The death of Ida (LeBlanc) Babineau, age 88, occurred on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, N.B. Born on June 28, 1917, in St. Anselme, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Silas and Obeline LeBlanc. Ida was a life member of the Catholic Women's League at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church in Sackville. Before taking nursing and becoming an RNA at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Ida was a volunteer for the St. John Ambulance. She enjoyed meeting and getting to know people of all walks of life and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Ida is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth Vachon of Belleville, Ontario, Margaret MacDonald of Dartmouth, N.S., Rosemary (Garry) Goodwin of Sackville, N.B. and Jeanette (Jim) Bourgoin of Maple Ridge, BC; one sister Aura Legere of Moncton, N.B.; daughter-in-law Gail Babineau of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Leo in 1995; son, Fred in 1982; three sisters, Bertha Robidoux, Viola Dutcher and Rosie LeBlanc; one brother, Phil and her grandson, Bruce Vachon. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 from 6 to 9 PM at Campbell's Funeral Home. Parish Prayers will be held on Monday evening at 8:30 PM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 11 AM with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will take place in the Point de Bute Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ida may be made to the St. Vincent's Memorial Fund, Sackville Hospital Auxiliary or to the charity of ones choice.
