Ernest Edward (Eddie) Betts 1930 - 2006 HARCOURT, NB - Ernest Edward (Eddie) Betts of Harcourt passed away Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton at the age of 76. Born in Brown's Yard on February 13th, 1930. He was the son of the late George and Julia (Young) Betts. Eddie will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Reta (Fearon) Betts; one daughter, Wanda Petley (Bart) of Harcourt and two sons, Glen (Charlotte) of Moncton, Dean (Kimberly) of Riverview; five grandchildren, Corey, Sarah, Jordan, Michael, Luke; one sister, Norma Augustine (Leonard) of Elsipogtog and two brothers, Melvin (Betty Mae) of Bass River and Carl (Evelyn) of Ford Bank. Predeceased by one brother, Myles (Janice). At a young age Eddie worked on the farm and in the woods. After he was married he was a mechanic by trade and had worked at Richibucto Motors and Canadian Trail Mobile until his retirement. He had a love for his garden and ice fishing (Bass) around Brown's Yard. Eddie always had great passion and concern for the well being of his family. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 75, Harcourt. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto, with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service to be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Brown's Yard on Thursday, June 29th, 2006 at 2:00pm, with Reverend John G. Pearce officiating. Interment in the Church Cemetery. In Eddie's memory donations may be made to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Kidney Dialysis Unit or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
