FULTON BLAIR PROUDE FREDERICTON, NB - Fulton Proude passed away on July 1st, 2006, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after having been diagnosed with cancer over a year ago. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, in 1923, he was the son of Owen Proude and Florence Walker. Fulton was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Esther Proude (MacIntosh). He was also predeceased by his brother, Hylson and recently by his sister, Shirley Brydon. Fulton is survived by his only daughter, Janet and son in law, Danny O'Shea of Fredericton, sister in law, Gladys Clarkin (Walter), brother in law, Alex MacIntosh and brother in law, Bill Brydon. Fulton worked for the Canadian National Railway from 1943 to 1983 as a train dispatcher. He was also an avid amateur radio operator for many years (VE1KZ). His job took him to Riverview in 1967 and in retirement moved to Fredericton in 1989. He and his wife made life long friends in each of these places. As requested there will be no visitation or service. Internment will be held in Highfield Cemetery, North River Road, PEI. Fulton had a great respect for all living things, no matter how small. As per his instructions, for those who wish, a donation to the local SPCA would be appreciated.
