Reta Eunice Steeves 1913 - 2006 Reta E. Steeves, formerly of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton passed away at The Salvation Army Lakeview Manor in Riverview on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the age of 93 years. Born in Harrisville, NB on February 18, 1913, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Lily Mae (Reade) Simmons. Reta was a member of The Peoples Park Tower Senior Citizens Association, also she was a member of The Harrisville United Baptist Church. Left with fond memories is her son, Harrison Steeves and his wife Barbara of Riverview; eight grandchildren, Gail Steeves and Janet MacLeod (Rod), Michel Doucet, Ritchie Doucet, Sharon Peeler and Melissa Doucet, Mark and Tracy Steeves; seven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; sister, Hilda Kendrick of Hillsborough; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harvard W. Steeves in 1987; by her son, Wendell Steeves; her daughter, Lillian Doucet; sisters, Daisy Smith, Minnie Simmons, Florence Simmons, Pearle Cochrane and Bertha Lovelock; brothers, Percy, Weldon and her twin brother, Rupert. There will be no viewing at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Road on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 2:00pm with Rev. Elizabeth Wall officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Donations in Reta's memory made to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by her family.
