At the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, March 8, 2009, of J. Elmer Cole of 8 Walker Dr., Kensington, aged 83 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in Spring Brook on February 27, 1926, son of the late W. Walter and L.Kate Cole. Husband of the late Gloria J. (Inglis) Cole. Father of Dana (Janice), Wheatley River; Dale (Barbara), Charlottetown; Dean (Edith), Clinton; Derwin (Shelley), Spring Valley; Dennis (Sharon), Washington, D.C., and Darrell (Susan), Amherst, N.S. Father-in-law of Deborah Cole and Therese Marsh. Grandfather of Erin (Domenic) Maugeri, Adam (Chelsy Flemming), Vanessa, Patricia (Troy Noonan), Stephanie, Aaron and Ashton Cole, Derek and Alx Wall, Carolyn Sanford, Julie MacLeod and Julia Bovaird. Great-grandfather of Taylor Gloria Noonan, Jillian and Allison Sanford, Bryanna, Tristan and Sophie MacLeod. Brother of Wesley (Joan) Cole and Wally Cole. Brother-in-law of Jim (Marge) Inglis, Leonard (Evelyn (Bobbie) Kelly and Roseanne Cooper. Predeceased by sister Bessie Bryanton (late Horace), sister-in-law Lois Cole and brothers-in-law John Inglis and Richard Kelly. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Wednesday from 2–4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in People’s Cemetery, Kensington. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation, or the Palliative Care Unit of Prince County Hospital. Comrades of Lt. Col. E.W. Johnstone Branch # 9 Royal Canadian Legion, Kensington, will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. www.davisonfh.com
