Joan Theresa McCarthy 1932-2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - Joan McCarthy, wife of Timothy McCarthy, of Miramichi, NB, passed away at the Miramichi Senior Citizen's Home, on Thursday, October 26, 2006, at the age of 74. Born in Sevogle, she was the daughter of Cornelius and Katherine (O'Shea) Kingston. She was a teacher and taught school for 35 years and attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Miramichi. Besides her husband Timothy, she is survived by three daughters; Siobhan (John) Humphrey of Edmonton, Moira (Maurice) Vidotto of Guelph, Ont., and Suzanne (Simon) Kennedy of Ottawa; one son, Brendan (Audrey) of St. John's, Nfld.; three sisters, Kitty Crowe of Ottawa, Gertrude Duffie of Fredericton, and Suzanne (Art) Barry of Loggieville; five brothers, Mark (Marion) of Charlottetown, Father Cornelius of Welland, Ont., Terry (Margaret) of Chatham, Gregory of Windsor, Ont., and Dermot (Pat) of Chatham; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Ann Knowles. She was predeceased by her brothers, Father Paul, Father Louis, Bernard, Fred and Leo. The family will receive relatives and friends at Northumberland Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 30, 2006, at 11 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Miramichi with Father Tom Flower officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to a memorial of one's choice.
