John J Johnson 1936-2006 MIRAMICHI - John Joseph Johnson, husband of Theresa Johnson, of Henderson Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, November 20, 2006, following a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 70. Born in Richibucto, he was the son of the late Luc and Marguerite (Caissie) Johnson. He was a thirty-one year retired employee of N.B. Power Corp. and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society as well as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. John was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, the former Theresa LeGoff; three daughters, Lisa White (Doug), of Strathadam, Nancy Gorman (Brett) and Lynn Williams (Jeff), all of Miramichi; four grandchildren, Ashley and Alex White and Hannah and Benjamin Gorman; two sisters, Rita Quinn, of Halifax, N.S. and Sister Rosa Johnson, J.M.A., of Campbellton; one brother, Joseph Johnson (Huguette), of Richibucto; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Susanne Richard; five brothers, Alyre, Edward, Leo, Gerard and Livain Johnson. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Tuesday evening, November 21st, 2006 from 6 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006, at 11 am, conducted by Father Leon Creamer. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, November 21st, 2006 at 6 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
