Albert A. Beers 1924 - 2006 BEERSVILLE, NB - Albert A. Beers, 82, of Beersville passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital on November 23, 2006. Born in Beersville, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Robinson) Beers. At the age of 18, Albert enlisted into the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942. Sailed on The Patrolia and The Owen Sound during his enlistment. Also received an honorable discharge in October, 1945. Upon his arrival, he started his trucking career, which ended when he went to work for the Department of Transportation and then went to work at Modern Construction for years where he had to end his working days because of health problems, which continued to plague him. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, a volunteer for the Beersville Fire Department, loved spending time at the camp, but most of all enjoyed his family. Albert will be sadly missed by his children, Lois Bryant (Tom), Margaret Leger (Jerry) of Beersville; son, Charles Beers of Moncton; grandchildren, Stacey Leger Bitting (Elijah), Jason Leger; great grandchildren, Beatrice and Liberty Bitting all of Beersville; two stepsons, Michael Bryant and Trevor Bryant (Jenny); sisters, Jennie Carruthers (James) Stella Betts (Edward) of Moncton; brother, Warren Beers (Flora); several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Dollina Roberts in 1993; a son, Ronald in 1968; two grand children, Todd Curtis 1979 and Cynthia Dawn Bryant 1994; brothers, Raymond, Edward and Ivan; sister, Winnie. Visitation at Thompson's Funeral home, Richibucto (523-4252) Friday, November 24, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St James Presbyterian Church in Beersville, Saturday, November 25 at 2 o'clock.
