Robert G. MacDonald 1928-2006 Robert George MacDonald, husband of Alice MacDonald, of Mountain Road, Moncton and formerly of Miramichi, passed away at his residence, on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at the age of 78. Born in Chatham, on February 21, 1928, he was the son of the late George R.F. and Marguerite (Bell) MacDonald. Prior to retirement, he was a motor vehicle mechanic by trade and a former employee of McCarthy Sales Ltd., in the former Town of Chatham. He was an adherent of St. Stephens United Church, Black River Bridge. He is survived by four daughters, Karen Devito (Henry), of Moncton, Tari Jana (Dipak), of Phonex, Arizona, USA, Vonda Thompson (Bob), of Calgary, Alberta, Roberta Sherrard (Roger), of South Esk; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two half sisters, Irene MacDonald, of Mississauga, Ont. and Ida Storey (Merle), of McGivney; three half brothers, Edward MacDonald (Carmel), Ernest MacDonald, Anerd MacDonald (Debbie), all of Black River Bridge; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Joy MacDonald. Visiting will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening only, from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. Stephens United Church, on Monday at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery As expressions of sympathy, donations in Bob's memory to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
