Ronald S. Briggs Ronald S. Briggs, 80, of Moncton with his three daughters at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, January 20th, 2007. Born in Moncton, Ron was the son of the late Harry and Flora (Sutherland) Briggs. Ron was former Vice-Principal of Trades at NBCC (Moncton), and was a retired instructional Dean responsible for clustered programs of construction, drafting, and design, metals, mechanical, motorized and appreticeship NBCC (Moncton), with over 25 years service. He was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church which he served in various capacities in past years and was a Veteran of the 2nd World War, served with the Canadian Armed Forces. Ron enjoyed fly tying, reading, camping, travelling, animals, especially his dog (Monte) and his cat (Cleo) however, his family came first. Ron was well respected and held high in esteem by his many friends and family members who enjoyed his great sense of humour. Ron will be sadly missed by his wife, Margaret (McLachlan) Briggs; daughters, Wendy Myles (Gary) of Rothesay, Cathy Jonah (Bob) of Moncton, Joanne Plume (Tim) of Moncton; grandchildren, Kendra, Greg, Jennifer, Erin, Mike and Jeremy; granddaughter-in-law, Denise Myles of Rothesay; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Benjamin and Sydney; brothers, Robert of Edmonton, AB, Stewart (Dorothy) of Dartmouth, NS; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Rosena (Lewis) (1986); and grandson, Ron (2006). Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday, January 22nd, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 at 1:30pm, Rev. Gordon MacLeod officiationg. Reception following the service. Interment, Stilesville Cemetery.
