Basil A. Mitton SHEDIAC, NB - Basil A. Mitton 84, of Shediac with his family at his side passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday January 22nd, 2007. Born in Moncton, Basil was the son of the late Arthur and Jessie (Horsman) Mitton. Basil formerly attended Wesley Memorial United Church, and was a retired CNR Locomotive Engineer with 41 years service. Basil was a Past Master of Coverdale Lodge #51 F & AM, Riverview; a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite Harrington Chapter, Moncton Lodge of Perfection, Past Most Wise Sovereign of Britton Chapter, NB Sovereign Consistory; Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; the Bois Hebert Club, Shediac; Shediac & Silver Sands Seniors Group, Shediac Cape and CNR War Vets; Veteran of the 2nd World War, served with the R.C.A.F. and R.C.N.V.R. Basil will be sadly missed by his daughters, Ann Nagati (Chris), Coquitlam, BC, Linda Mitton, Toronto; sons, Arthur (Gloria), Moncton, Dr. Kenneth (Berthe), Dieppe, Michael (Pami), Hamilton, ON; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; stepchildren, Sharon Reeves, Spencer's Ridge, BC, Gary Petitpas, Charlottetown, PE, Stephen Petitpas, Kamloops, BC, Tim Petitpas, Moncton; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, predeceased by his 1st wife, Iris Mitton (1993); daughter, June; son, John; sisters, Dorothy and Florence; brothers, Lloyd, Earl, John and Arnold. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Coverdale Lodge #52 F & AM Memorial Service Wednesday, January 24th at 6:45pm. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday January 25th, 2007, 11am, Rev.
