Fred Woodworth
Frederick Woodworth MONCTON, NB - The death of Fred Woodworth, age 94, of Moncton and formerly of Dorchester, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Thursday, February 8, 2007. Born in Stewiacke, he was a son of the late Frederick and Edith (Webster) Woodworth. Fred was a veteran of the Dental Corps, of the Canadian Army, managing the orderly room. He was employed by Corrections Canada for 25 years. He was a member of the Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, a Past Master of Sussex Masonic Lodge # 4 F & AM, a Past Grand Patron of the Eastern Star (Fort Monckton Chapter, Port Elgin) and a member of St. John's United Church, Moncton. Fred will be sadly missed by two sons, Alan (Betty), Lower Coverdale, and Donald (Therese), Moncton; two daughters, Joan LeBlanc, Moncton and Carolyn (Darryl) Steeves, Halifax, NS; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Steel, Amherst, NS. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Bessie Raworth. The remains have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Funeal Home, Sackville (364-1300). A funeral service will be held at the Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 2 pm, Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Fred's family will receive friends at the Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke, NS in the spring.
