Dorothy Carolyn Stannard 1919-2007 HILLSBOROUGH, NB - Dorothy Carolyn Stannard , 87, of Hillsborough passed away peacefully at her home on February 12, 2007. Dorothy was born in Berry Mills on December 24, 1919, the daughter of the late Percy and Martha Jonah. She was a housewife and homemaker. Dorothy's family was very important to her, she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful member of the First Hillsborough United Baptist Church where she was the past treasurer. She was also an active member of the WMS when she was younger. She loved playing Dominos with her friends, and was very hard to beat. She was an avid gardener having had vegetable gardens and flower gardens for most of her life. In the past few years she really enjoyed sitting at her table and watching the many birds and squirrels that she had feeders for and also had a chance to get to know a few raccoons. She was a special lady who will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Joyce Dube of Riverview; son, Paul Stannard (Dianne Thibodeau) of Hillsborough; grandchildren, Tamie Ward (Peter), Todd Stannard (Patsy), Justin Stannard (Mary Beth) and Jamie Steeves; her great grandchildren Joseph, Scott, Ashel, Kristen, Michael, Kimberley and Stacie. She will also be missed by her nephew Kelvin Rose of Ontario and by her daughter-in-law Sherry Steeves of Salem. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband George and by her only sister Marie Rose (Ken). She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 evening from 7 to 9pm, Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the First Hillsborough United Baptist Church, Hillsborough on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 2pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating. Interment will be held in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, in the spring.
