Harold Whitfield Vail 1931 - 2007 COLES ISLAND - Mr. Harold Whitfield Vail of 11373 Rte. 10 Coles Island, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 13, 2007 at the age of 75. Born in Gagetown on May 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Cecil Lee and Viola Maude (Ferris) Vail. Harold is survived by his wife, Lillian (Webster); four sons, Ron and his wife, Donna of Sussex Corner, Malcolm (Moe) and his wife, Shelley of Berwick, Robert and his wife, Ruth of Coles Island, Doug and his wife, Diane of Moncton; daughter, Catherine Morse and her husband, Gerald of White Head Island; five brothers, Walter and his wife, Eleanor, Worcester, Massachusetts, Robert and his wife, Betty, of Southborough, Massachusetts, Winslow and his wife, Nancy of Moncton, Donald of Moncton and Lloyd and his wife, Rosemary of Homer, New York; one sister, Audrey Swantak of Holliston, Massachusetts; 12 grandchildren, Andrea and her husband Seth, Marty, Lindsay, Bradley and his wife Kristina, Deanna, Lauren, Amy, Ashley, Katelyn, Johnathan, Holly and Melissa; as well as several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his brother, Ralph. Harold owned and operated Vail's Esso and General Store in Coles Island. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Sussex Wesleyan Church on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place at Coles Island Cemetery in the spring.
