John Adam Gordon 1924 - 2007 CALGARY, AB - John Adam Gordon, beloved husband and best friend of Dorothy Gordon of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the age of 82 years. John was born on October 24, 1924 in Boston, Massachusetts. He came to New Brunswick with his parents as a young child. From 1943 to 1946 he served his country with the Royal Canadian Navy. On April 14, 1954, he married Dorothy Chambers. John worked at the well-known Milton's Diner in Moncton, NB for over twenty-five years. He and Dorothy resided in Moncton until 1997 when they moved to Calgary to be nearer to their daughter, son-in-law, and especially their grandson. John had a passion for baseball and was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame in 1989 as a baseball coach for the Keefe Cubs. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed golfing and curling. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. John had a warm smile for everyone he met and one of his greatest pleasures was simply meeting and talking to people. He was also an unwavering friend of Bill W. for over thirty years. Besides his loving wife Dorothy, John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret (Meg) and Paul Reynolds; and grandson, John Andrew Reynolds all of Calgary. He is also survived by a brother, Victor (Alice) Oulton of Moncton; and sister, Pearl Cosnick of Glace Bay, NS; as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald, Carl, Borden, and Harley; and his sister, Bernadette (Bun).
