William H. (Bill) O'Reilly
William H. (Bill) O'Reilly HAMILTON, ON - William O'Reilly passed away suddenly at McMaster University Medical Centre, Hamilton, Ontario, on April 2, 2007 at the age of 85 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Margaret (Dinan) for 58 years; loving father of Brian and Colleen (David); cherished grandfather of Michael (Tami), Sarah and Maevanne; and great grandfather of Cathryn and Miles (mother Monica), Klea and Ethan. Born in Chatham (Miramichi) New Brunswick, he is survived by his sisters, Berniece, Gertrude, Louise and Lourdes; predeceased by brothers, Frank, Jack and Arthur; sister, Margaret and parents Jack and Beryl. Bill was a popular barber in Dundas since opening in 1949 and was well known to most of the town. He was also a piano technician for the Greater Hamilton Area. He was a life long member and twice President of the Hamilton Air Force Association as well as life member of the Legion (Branch 36). He served in Europe with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was a decorated veteran of World War II. Bill was one of four service men honored by Veterans Affairs to represent Canada in France at the 50th anniversary of the Normandy Landing. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial at the Royal Canadian Legion at 280 King Street West, Dundas on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 3 PM. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
