Our family’s heart is broken at the passing of a wonderful, remarkable woman; Margaret passed away on March 8, 2009 at the age of 76. She was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on January 27th 1933, daughter of the late Mary (Brennan) and Stanislaus Reardon. Margaret is predeceased by her loving husbands, Joseph White (1978), Joseph Mattarolo (1993), and special love Harold Hewitt (2004). Margaret is also predeceased by her sister Eileen Tucker; brothers, Frank, Bill, and Pat Reardon; and brothers-in-law John, Morris, and Jimmy White. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories and overwhelming sadness are her six children, Daniel White (Bridget), Joseph White (Rose), Gary White (Anne Cooney), Paulette Walsh (David), Colleen Furlong (George), and Kimberley Jackson (Daniel). Margaret also had fourteen loving grandchildren: Danielle Campbell (Raymond); Kelly (Mike Smith), Shannon, Angela, Kathleen, Samantha, Joseph and Garrett White; James Cooney; David, Stefanie and Casey (Jessie Sawatzky) Walsh; Bradley White (Beth Rowlands); and Joan Furlong (Justin Frampton). She also had eleven great-grandchildren; Andrew, Chad, Anthony, Daniel, Rachael, Jeremy, Brandon, Noah, Lucy, Isabella and Eva. She also leaves her devastated best friend and sister Mary Downey (William), and special sisters-in-law; Vida Reardon, Frances Galgay (Gus), Esther Burke (Terry), Alice Gibbons (Kevin), and Elizabeth Hynes (Douglas); brothers-in-law Leo White, Eddy White (Cindy), and George Evans (Margaret). In addition, she leaves behind special family friends Raymond Hewitt (Rose), Richard Hewitt (Dallas), Wayne Hewitt (Donna) and long time friends, Margaret Gorman and Margaret Kearsey (Charlie), and card buddies and friends Joan Pinsent, Donna Predham, Dianne Owens and a special angel and wonderful caregiver, Yvonne Clarke. Margaret lived life to the fullest and touched all of our lives with her kindness, strength and wonderful, warm heart. She will be sadly missed by a multitude of extended family and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from Barrett’s Chapel 11 a.m., Thursday March 12, 2009. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or memorial tributes may be made to the Seniors Resource Centre or Cabot Habitat for Humanity, two organizations that touched Margaret’s heart.
