Eugene "Geno" Melanson 1947 - 2007 After a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007, passed away Eugene 'Geno' Melanson, beloved husband of Jeannette (née Porelle). Born March 11th, 1947, he was the son of the late Alfred and Edmée (Richard) Melanson. Loving father of Claudine Tuttle (Andrew) of Calgary, Claire Poirier (Stephane) of Moncton, and Cindy Wedge (Wayne) of P.E.I.; Pépère to Dylan, Joey, Miguel, Nicholas, Kristie, and Matthew; dear brother of Alfreda Wellman (late Donald) of Moncton, and Andrea Ouellette (Laurie) of Shediac; brother-in-law of Paul Porelle (Marcene) and George Porelle both of Moncton, Isabelle Haché (Jean-Guy) of Montréal; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Geno enjoyed the simplest of things. Painting, walking with Beau (his dog and best friend), spending time with his grandchildren and family. Former employee with Seaside Chev-Olds, former member of Riverview Lions Club, former Commanding Officer with 292 Sea Cadet Corps (Riverview), and a member of the Shediac Art Society. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. The family will receive condolences following the mass in the church hall. Memorial donations to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Palliative Care) or Extra Mural would be appreciated.
