ANDERSON - Ralph, age 75 years of Swift Current, SK, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Regina, SK. The Memorial service was held at 2:00 P.M, Thursday, March 5, from the First United Church with Reverend Kevin E. Johnston officiating. Eulogists were: Wendy Hurd and Randi Hurd. The ushers were Darrell & Colleen Wallace and Doug and Janice Smith. The honorary pallbearers were: Al Benallack, Jim Buist, Bill Mann, Grant Veitch, Mark Oikawa, Doug Judiesch and Barry Shook. Ralph is survived by his wife and best friend, Florence; his daughter, Wendy (Barry) Hurd, their children Randi and Scott; his son, Richard (Dona), their children Cole and Mina Jeanne; sister Joyce (Bill) Wallace; sister-in-law Betty (Lyle) Thompson; sister-in-law Marg Benallack; sister-in-law Nettie Buist; his many cousins, nieces and nephews and his extended family, the Oikawas. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Lane and Phyllis Anderson; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Mina Buist; brother-in-law Jim Buist; niece Sandy Benallack Murphy. Ralph was born in Swift Current, SK, September 22, 1933. He attended school at Montford rural school for his elementary education, High School in Swift Current and the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon for his Degree Course in Agriculture. Farming was his life for 75 years. He was a member of the Saskatchewan Flying Farmers, International Flying Farmers, a Life Time Elder of the First United Church, a Fellowship Club member and served on many other church committees. The group he loved the best was anytime he was surrounded by family and friends. His special interests were farming, flying, biking - from pedal to motor! His most important interest and passion was his family. Ralph was a man of great character, compassion and commitments.
