Margaret A. Lynds

Margaret A. Lynds 1922 - 2007 Margaret Alice DesBrisay (Blakeny) Lynds of Moncton, passed away after a sudden illness at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on July 25th. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Hon. Dr. C. H. Blakeny and his wife, Lilah (Lockhart). She was predeceased by her sister, Phillis Rattenbury; her first husband, L. G. (Dud) DesBrisay and Fred A. Lynds, her second husband. She is survived by her son, Richard DesBrisay and his wife Pat; daughter, Susan Watts and her husband Douglas; six grandchildren, Craig, Julie and Laura DesBrisay, Deborah Povinelli, Christine Johnston and Katie Thomson and four great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service to be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, on Thursday, August 2nd at 2:00 pm, reception following the service. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. For over 60 years she was an active member of the IODE organization serving as the President of the New Brunswick Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (IODE), President of the Westmorland Chapter and Honorary President of the Hon. Dr. C. H. Blakeny Chapter. Donations in her memory to either the Westmorland Chapter IODE (384-4678) or Blakeny Chapter IODE (386-1835) would be appreciated.
