Roy Cormier 1931-2007 Roy Cormier, 75, of Bas Cap-Pelé Road, Cap-Pelé passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 following a brief illness. Born August 21, 1931 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Aimé and Edmée (Landry) Cormier. Roy was a fisherman for over 50 years. He attended Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Golden Age Club in Cap-Pelé. He enjoyed golf, cards, bowling, darts and traveling. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, three daughters, Marguerite-Rose "Maggie" Conrad (Bert) of Moncton, Carol-Ann Deveau (Victor) of Ottawa, ON, Suzanne Cormier (Liette Landry) of Caraquet; three sons, Charles-Eugène (Jeannette) and Louis-Marcel (Nicole) all of Bas Cap-Pelé, Jacques (Dorine) of Grand-Barachois; two sisters, Géraldine LeBlanc (late Joe) of Grand-Barachois, Anne-Marie Doucet (Eddie) of Tignish; four brothers, Paul (Germaine), Aquilla (Alice), Clorice (feu Aline) all of Bas Cap-Pelé, Freddy (Annette) of Cap-Pelé; one half-brother, Léo-Paul Cormier (Maria) of Bas Cap-Pelé; fourteen grandchildren, Jeff, Jérémi, Michel, Joël, Julie, Marc, Martin, Marcia, Joey, Martine, Natalie, Janique, Josette, Renée; six great-grandchildren, Jamal, Ézékiel, Anabel, Mia, Miguel and Kylie. Roy was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Dorothé Stella (Niles) Cormier January 16, 2007; a great grandchild, Jessy Cormier, March 29, 2007; and by two sisters, Georgia Poirier (2002) and Esther Goguen (2005). Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, from 2 p.m. until time of departure at 6:50 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007 at Ste. Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
