Robert Lawrence Matthews 1942 - 2007 The death of Robert Lawrence (Bobby) Matthews, 65 years, of Greater Lakeburn occurred at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Wednesday, August 8th, 2007. Born in Moncton, July 18th, 1942, he was the son of Viola (Nicolle) Matthews and the late Richard Matthews. Bobby had worked as a roofer for many years in Toronto and in the Moncton area. In addition to his mother, Viola of Greater Lakeburn, he is survived by his brothers, Harold (Lorna), Brian, Greg (Karen) and Mark (Karen) all of Lakeburn; his sisters, Carol Phillips (Jack) and Judy Portis (Ray) all of St. Thomas, ON, Brenda Gallant (Louis) of Shediac, Elaine Jessome (Mike) of Edmundston, NB, Marsha Matthews (Tim) of Lakeburn and Karen Matthews (Mike) of Moncton; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Richard; his brothers, Gary, Jimmy and Jack; and his sisters, Shirley and Marilyn. By request there will not be any visiting hours prior to a memorial service which will be held on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 at 2 pm in St. George's Anglican Church, Church Street, Moncton, followed by interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
