James (Jim) E. McKay

James (Jim) E. McKay 1929-2007 James (Jim) E. McKay 78, of Moncton with his family at his side passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Friday August 24, 2007. Born in Whitneyville, he was the son of the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Sherrard) McKay. Jim was retired from Armour Transportation Systems and was a former volunteer with the Codiac Regional RCMP, Moncton Minor Football Association and formerly involved with security at the Moncton Coliseum. Jim was a dedicated hard working man who always had fond memories of the many years he was employed with Armour Transport. After retirement he followed one of his passions, when he became a volunteer with the Codiac RCMP. Here he did what he knew best, meeting people, making friends and helping others. But above all, Jim will always be remembered as a caring, compassionate father and husband, who set the example that continues to guide each of their lives today. "We will remember his smile, his hearty laugh, his unwavering positive attitude, we will treasure his gifts of love, trust and forgiveness. We will lovingly cherish those special moments he created. We will see him in every sunrise, every rainbow, every sunset and he will forever be the brightest star in the sky." Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, of over 57 years, Ethel (McIntyre); daughters, Patsy Jones (Keith), Edmonton, AB, Judy Haley (Albert), Colleen Stewart (Allan) both of Moncton, Penny Clancy (Stephen), Stilesville; sons, Jim (Tami), Moncton, Peter (Karen) Outer Cove, NL; grandchildren, Kerri, Stacy, Clint, Marla, Jamie, Christina, Cherin, Lindsay, Kelsey, Eric and Ellen; Great grandchildren, Sydney, Emma and Tyler; sisters, Alberta Killam, Donna Cullen, Mae Veniot, Marilyn Steeves; brother, Lenwood (Marion), Riverview; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents predeceased by his great granddaughter, Emily. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Sunday 2 to 4pm. Funeral service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel Monday August 27, 2007, 11am, Rev. Harold MacDonald officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
