Dr. Benjamin Luke BS, DMH, FIACA 1927 - 2007 The death of Dr. Benjamin Luke BS, DMH, FIACA, husband of Elinor (Van Buskirk) Luke, occurred after a lengthy illness, on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 79. Born in India, October 14, 1927, Dr. Luke was the son of the late Rev. J.R. and Mrs. Luke. Dr. Luke attended St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle, was a member of the Northumberland Lodge # 17 F& AM and the Miramichi Shrine Club. Besides his wife, Elinor, Dr. Luke is survived by three sons, Kumar Benjamin of Miramichi, NB, Darin David of Fredericton, NB, Devin Raja of New York, New York; two sisters, Saro Samuel of India, Mano Luke of Moncton, NB; one brother, Dr. John J. Luke (Santosh) of India; and several nieces and nephews. Dr. Luke is predeceased by his parents and one brother, Col. S.R. Luke. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 1 PM.
