Stella Olexson
July 29, 1927 – March 9, 2009

The passing of Stella Olexson, age 81 years of Saskatoon, SK, (formerly of Prince Albert) occurred on Monday, March 9, 2009, at St. Paul’s Hospital. Stella was born in Poland and came to Canada in 1937 to Prince Albert, SK. She married Peter Olexson in 1951 and they resided in Prince Albert where she was employed with the law firm Kirkby, Kirkby and Allbright. Stella and Peter retired to Saskatoon in 1997 and had resided here since. Stella is lovingly remembered by her husband, Peter; daughter, Barbara (Stanley) Ballard of Pike Lake, SK; son, Donald (Bev) Olexson of Sherwood Park, AB; grandchildren, Dee, Clay, Nikki and Markie Ballard and Robert and Leah Olexson; sisters, Sophie Mordy of Kelowna, BC, and Christina Lukasiewicz and friend Werner of Staten Island, New York; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and special friends, Rose, Lillian and Delores. She was predeceased by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Lukasiewicz. The Vigil of Prayer will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Both services will be held from St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church (217 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon, Sk.) celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ralph Kleiter. Rite of Committal will follow in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ICU at St. Paul’s Hospital.
