Earle Clinton Leckey

Earle Clinton Leckey 1917 - 2007 The passing of Earle Clinton Leckey of Chipman occurred at the Fredericton DECH on Friday, November 23rd, 2007 at 90 years of age. Born in 1917 in Coal Creek, NB, he was the son of C. Percy Leckey and Violet (Nightingale). He was predeceased by his wife, Bessie (Fulton) in 1988; an infant son; daughter-in-law, Lorna (Cole); brother, Kenneth; and sister-in-law, Mildred Leckey. Earle worked in the coal mines in his youth, but spent most of his career as a fireman/engineer for the CNR, retiring in 1980. Earle greatly enjoyed his family and was very proud of his grand and great-grandchildren. He is survived by one son, Roger of Saint John; and two daughters, Nancy (Floyd Amos) of Fredericton, and Lanah (Gordon Rattray) of Albert Mines. He is also survived by Roger's children, Tanya (Neil Josselyn), Derek (Vicki) and Lynda; Nancy's children, Jocelyn and Kara (Michael Thomson); and Lanah's children, Gayle Anderson (Douglas MacFarlane) and Winston (Joanne); as well as great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Josselyn, Sophia, Cameron, Macadam, Jameson Thomson, Dylan, Damian, Graydon Anderson; and brother, Glendon; sister, Velma (Bruce Smyth); and several nieces and nephews. Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Tuesday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kaithi Zwicker officiating. Interment in the Red Bank United Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Legion service at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chipman United Church or the Range Cemetary would be appreciated by the family.
