Allen A. Steeves 1920 - 2007 Miramichi, N.B. - Allen Austin Steeves, husband of Helen Steeves, of King George Highway, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday, December 10, 2007, at the age of 87. Born in Moncton, on May 23, 1920, he was the son of the late Austin and Ethel (Colpitts) Steeves. He was a former employee of District #8 School Board as well as the former Town of Newcastle, Public Works Dept. He was a member of Bethel United Church, Miramichi; a member of the R.C.A.F. 254 Wing, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen G. Gilliss; two sons, Richard Steeves and Ronald Steeves, both of Miramichi; two sisters, Shirley Freeman (Floyd), of Moncton and Pearl Steeves (Walter), of Saint John; three grandchildren, Mark, Laura and Robert; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Andrew; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Wayne Steeves; one sister, Susan O'Brien; one brother, Lloyd Steeves. Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. J.D. Kennedy. Interment will be in the Miramichi Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Bethel United Church, or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
