Archie E. Beaumont

Archie E. Beaumont 1924-2008 Archie E. Beaumont, 83, passed away on January 12, 2008 at the Forest Dale Nursing Home with his wife and family by his side. Archie was born in Edgett's Landing on August 27, 1924, the son of the late Hoyt and Beatrice (Smith) Beaumont. He grew up in Edgett's Landing and in his younger years worked on his father's farm. He retired from the Department of Agriculture after 30 years. He was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. Archie loved life and enjoyed the outdoors; he liked to travel and meet new people. Archie enjoyed driving his 4-wheeler on his woodlot to cut the winter's wood. He enjoyed listening to stories and always had a few of his own to share with others. He will be remembered for his positive thinking and for his great sense of humour. He will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Doreen (Campbell); his children, Carol Shannon (Danny), Anna Terris (Jim), Marion Stevens (Garry), Mark (Linda), Donna Reid (Jim), Paul (Pat); son-in-law, Gerry Morrissey. He will also be dearly missed by his 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren who will fondly remember him as "Pop"; sister-in-law, Joyce Beaumont; aunts, Eileen Nelson and Beulah Beaumont; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pat and Debbie Carr. Archie was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Kathy Morrissey; sister, Magery Blakney; brother, Richard Beaumont; son-in-law, Garry Weir. Archie was the last remaining member of his immediate family. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, January 14th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 15th, 2008 at 2:00pm with Rev. Gerald Matthews officiating and Rev. Dean MacDonald assisting. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship, sharing of memories and for refreshments at the Church Fellowship Center. Interment will be in the Beaumont Family Cemetery, Edgett's Landing. At the request of the family, memorial donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Forest Dale Nursing Home for the excellent care of Archie during his stay.
