Alcide Despres 1919-2008 Alcide Despres, 89, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L Dumont Hospital after a sudden illness. Residing in Cocagne, NB, he was born on January 9, 1919 to the late Jacques Despres and the late Delia Pellerin. He was a retired truck driver, attended the St-Pierre de Cocagne Roman Catholic Church, and was a member of the Club D'Age D'Or de Cocagne. He will be sadly missed by his special friend, Dora Savoie; four daughters, Louisa Sampson (Richard) Manomet Mass. USA, Marina Allain (Michel) Bouctouche, Linda Allain (Albert), Ste-Anne de Kent, Jeanine Despres (Alonzo Savoie), Bouctouche; three sons, Jean-Paul (Murielle), Cocagne, Elmo (Maria), Cocagne, Omer (Anne), Bouctouche; two sisters, Lorraine Babineau (Albert), Shediac, Juliette Poirier (Henri), Shediac; one brother, Aristide Despres (Feu Andrea), Cocagne; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Despres (Richard) on April 24, 1991; three sisters, Emilia, Edith, Dorilla; and one brother, Gerard. Resting at Cooperative Funeraire Passage Funeral Co-operative Shediac-Bridge. Visiting hours on Monday January 14, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, with no visiting time on Tuesday. Funeral service will take place at St-Pierre de Cocagne Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday January 15, 2008 at 10am. Interment at the Parish cemetery at a later date in the spring.
