Passed peacefully away on Sunday, March 8th at the Waterford Hospital. He was predeceased by parents, John Marshall and Mary Ann Fudge (nee Vallis), sisters, Margaret and Greta. He is survived by brother, Marshall Fudge (Etta), sisters, Grace Lachapelle (Robert), Myrtice Alpen (Douglas) and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Randall was a member of the 59th (Newfoundland) Heavy Regiment, Royal Artillery. He served in the Newfoundland Regiment from November 7th, 1942 and on March 1st, 1943 he remustered to the Royal Artillery. He was injured in London as a result of the Blitz, was in hospital in England until returning to Newfoundland and invalided out February 5th, 1944. As a result of his injuries he was a resident of the Waterford Hospital until his death.
Following cremation, a memorial service is being held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 16th at the Waterford Chapel, Waterford Hospital, St. John’s, N.L., at which time Colours will be presented. A Family Service and Interment will take place from St. Lawrence Church, Belleoram, N.L. in July, 2009.
The family thanks the staff of the Waterford Hospital for the wonderful care Randall received over the years.
