Lilian S. Griffin
Lilian S. Griffin SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Lilian S. Griffin, age 83, of Sackville, occurred peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Born in Lower Derby, NB, in 1924, she was a daughter of the late Oman R. and Irene Z. (Hare) Clouston. Lilian was a laboratory technician, researching and testing at the Maritime Seed Branch and also worked in the Animal Pathology Lab at Mount Allison University. In addition to her reading, she enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses. Her stitchery, sewing and knitting kept her fingers busy making beautiful gifts for her family and friends that will continue to be cherished for many years to come. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Leigh and her husband Rene LeBlanc of Moncton; her son- in-law, Dr. Leonard Hamm of Washington State; three grandchildren, Nicholas Hamm of Arizona, Cameron Hamm of Virginia and Andre LeBlanc of Moncton; her sisters, Martha Wallace of Montreal and Pauline Saunders of Miramichi; her brothers, Clarence, Oman and Edward, all of Miramichi. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vincent (Wink) Griffin; daughter, Debbie Hamm; sisters, Muriel and Pearle (Greene); and brothers, Robert, Magnus and John. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB, (506-364-1300). Cremation has taken place. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visiting or memorial service. Flowers and donations are respectfully declined. A private committal service will be held at a later date.
