Frank D. Gallagher Frank D. Gallagher, 87, of Ridgewood Veterans Wing (formerly of Lock Lomond Villa), Saint John, formally of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Wing. Born May 29, 1920 in Toronto, he was the son of the late Richard and Marion (Todd) Gallagher. He was a veteran of W.W. 2, a retired Life Insurance Agent, and an amateur radio operator (VE9TEX). "Tex", to his oldest friends, had a passion for Dixieland and Big Band Jazz and maintained a vast sense of curiosity about the world. He loved nature, kept fit by hiking and camping. He will be missed by many friends and former colleagues and, especially by his five children, Brenda Turner (Tim) and Dale Hamm (Nathan) of Edmonton AB, Julie MacLean (Neil) of Saint John, Donald (Leona) of Stouffville, ON, and Paul of Toronto; a sister Barbara Gallagher of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Doris (Simpson). He is predeceased by his first wife, Noella (Vinet); a sister, Gertrude; brothers, Richard and Harold. Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900). Visitation Monday, March 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 25 from 1 p.m. until departure (1:50) then to St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, Botsford Street, Moncton, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in the spring. The Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No. 6, will hold a Service of Remembrance Monday at 3 p.m. from Frenette's.
