Joseph S. Isiah
Joseph S. Isiah 1927 - 2008 Miramichi - Joseph Samuel Isiah, husband of Edith Isiah, of Air Force Crescent, of the Miramichi Retirement Community, passed away at the Dr. George Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, on Monday evening, at the age of 80. Born in Fredericton, on June 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Napke) Isiah. He was a self employed businessman, involved in various endeavors over his working career, primarily construction and retail businesses. He attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi and was a 4th Degree Member of the Bishop Hill Assembly, #1219, Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, the former Edith Henderson; five daughters, Joanne Isiah (Rajesh), of Toronto, Ont., Judy Foran (Larry), of Halifax, N.S., Rita Lombard (Don), of Riverview, Cathy McCormack (Chris), of Miramichi, Rosemary Isiah (Danny), of Porters Lake, N.S.; one son, Joseph Isiah Jr. (Rachel), of Oshawa, Ont.; one step daughter, Julie Smith (Leslie), of Oromocto; one step son, James Dunnett (Carrie), of Misson, B.C.; one sister, Mary Jordon (Michael), of Enfield, N.S.; two brothers, George Isiah (Mavis), of Miramichi and David Isiah (Debbie), of Red Deer, Alberta; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Anne Blakely; one daughter, Mary Jane Isiah; two sisters, Annie Garnet and Yvonne Henry; one brother, Peter Isiah. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, Miramichi, on Thursday, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Friday, april 4, 2008, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc. or the N.B. Kidney Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
