76, Big Bras d'Or It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Frank Kozera on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Loretta Kozera, Whitney Pier and the late Peter Kozera. Frank was a proud lighthouse keeper in Louisbourg for 21 years, and then the lighthouse keeper for 14 years at Black Rock in Big Bras d'Or until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and he was an avid dart player. Besides his mother, Loretta, he is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Yvonne (Fleet); his daughters, Judy Kozera (Leonard), Louisbourg, Loretta (Sheldon) Squires, Big Bras d'Or and his son, Frank (Valerie) Kozera, Ottawa; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Adrian); brothers, Walter (Margie), Bernie (Judy), all of Sydney, as well as his special nephew Peter John Kozera. Besides his father, Peter, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald, and sister, Betty Ann. The family would like to send a special thanks to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital staff in ICU, 4A, also the Glace Bay ICU and North Sydney 5th floor. Memorial service will take place 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating.
