80, Sydney River It is with deep regret we announce the death of Douglas Graham Jackson on Nov. 3, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Douglas was born in Sydney, Dec. 8, 1927, son of the late Hubert and Ivy Jackson. Doug was an avid golfer, a member of Seaview Golf Club for over 50 years. He worked in construction and retired from the Heavy Water Plant in Glace Bay. Douglas is survived by his dear friend and companion, Mavis Morrison; twin sister, Bertha (Paul) Benedict, Sydney Forks, Ralph (Georgina) Jackson, Sydney, and Edward (Trudie) Jackson, Vancouver. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Betty, brother, John and sisters, Clara Ross and Isabel Novak. Visitation will take place Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6 at the Sydney River United Protestant Church, Sydney River, with Rev.
