Hector Melanson 1920 - 2008 SAINT-ANTOINE DE KENT, NB - Hector Melanson, age 87, of Foyer Saint-Antoine, Saint-Antoine de Kent and formerly of Cocagne has passed away after a lengthy illness at the Foyer Saint-Antoine on Saturday, May 24th, 2008. Married to Marie (Cormier) Melanson, he was born in Cocagne on November 16th, 1920 to the late Philippe and the late Julie (Bourque) Melanson. Hector is survived by his wife, Marie; one daughter, Carmella Melanson (Léo-Paul LeBlanc) of Shediac; seven sons, Eddie (Carmel), Eugère (Aline), Alvin (Anne), Normand (Laura), all of Cocagne, Jean-Guy (Janice) of McKees Mills, Clarence (Simonne) of Saint-Antoine de Kent, Paul (June) of Saint-John; one brother, Amédée of Shediac; sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was a supervisor and bought lobster for E.P. Melanson Ltd., Cocagne for numerous years. Hector was predeceased by four sisters; Marie-Jeanne, Sr. Stella, Eva, Anna, six brothers; Edmond, Thaddée, Zoël, Alcide, Valerie, Émile. Visitations will be held at the Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church slumber room, Cocagne on Sunday May 25th, from 7 to 9, Monday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 6:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Pierre church, Cocagne on Monday, May 26th, 2008 at 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
