Marion L. Smith 1925 - 2008 Marion L. Smith 82, Petitcodiac, passed away at home on June 17, 2008 surrounded by family. Born in Killams Mills on July 10, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Zilpha (Alward) Steeves. Marion was the wife of the late Lloyd Smith. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 41, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary Services. Marion is survived by her daughter, Lynn Gaudet (Timothy); her sons, Ronald Smith (Kathy), Donald Smith (Merleen); step-sons, Reginald Smith (Donna), Kenneth (Norma); sisters, Muriel Steeves, Stella Kyle; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased by her son, David at birth; her brothers, Donald Steeves and Reid Steeves; and by her half-sisters, Greta Fawcett and Viola McMackin, Edna DeBow. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm; the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a tribute service on Thursday at 6:45 pm, all in Armstrong's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating in the Petitcodiac Baptist Church. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
