It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Christopher Allen Gallagher, loving son, brother and uncle on Nov. 5, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, N.S. Born in Bangor, Me., he was the son of James Kerwin Gallagher and the late Guida Mae (Toney) Gallagher. He was a member of Saint Anthony Daniel parish. Christopher worked and lived for many years in Boston, Mass. He then resided in Toronto, Ont., prior to moving to Sydney to be close to his sisters and brothers. He is survived by his three sisters, Terry Lynn (David) Marshall, Membertou, Annmarie (Donnie) Gallagher, Benson, Ariz., Linda (Norman) St. Pierre, Auburn, Me. He is also survived by his brothers, Nelson, Phillip, Wayne and Anthony Morris, all of Eskasoni, Roger Morris, San Antonio, Tex., John Gallagher, Saco, Me., Michael Gallagher, Houlton, Me. In addition to his immediate family, Chris is survived by his nephews, Christien, James, Julian, Steven, Tarrin, Brendan and nieces, Andrea, Whitney, Tiffany, Jillian, Zara and Brandi. Visitation will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Thursday, Nov. 6, 6-9 p.m. Graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, 449 Ohio St., Bangor, Me., Rev. Rudolph Leveille officiating. Friends are welcome to gather at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery office at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family of Chris would like to thank the An Cala Palliative Care Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kindness and support through this most difficult time.
