Jessie Eleanor Johnston The death of Jessie Eleanor Johnston, wife of the late Freeman Johnston of Nelson - Miramichi, NB, occurred on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 92. Born in Nelson - Miramichi, NB, she was the daughter of the late David and Annie (Brander) Blackmore. Jessie was a retired Payroll Clerk from Acadia Pulp & Paper. She attended St. James United Church, Nelson and was a member of the Friendly Neighbors senior citizens. Jessie is survived by one sister, Jean Tozer of Moosonee, ON; one special niece, Elaine Tower and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jessie is predeceased by one brother, Jerad Blackmore (Jed); three sisters, Anna Vanderbeck, Adelaide McAllister (Dell) and Rita Tower; one special nephew, Joe Tower. The family will receive visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. James Church, Nelson on Monday at 2 PM with Rev. Ross Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a memorial of one's choice.
