William "Bill" Owens 1944 - 2008 Sergeant (Retired) William "Bill" Owens, 64, of Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, July 1 2008, with his family at his side. Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Alice "Penny" (Moore) Owens; daughter, Eva Lynne Brown; son, Ian (Tracy) Owens; and three grandsons, Ryan, Tyler and Niccolas. He will also be sadly missed by his paternal mother, Dora (LeBlanc) Owens; brother, Gary Owens. He was predeceased by his father, William K. Owens; and his maternal mother, Patricia Mary (Bailey) Owens. Bill served proudly with the RCAF and the CAF for 31 years. He will be remembered fondly by all those who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family. Resting at the Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Friday July 4 2008 from 1:00 to 1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service in the chapel of the funeral home at 2:00 pm. A reception will be held in the Garden View Reception Room. Internment will be held at a later date at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations made in Bill's memory to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
