Bucky (Melvin) Brine 1941-2008 It is with great sadness that the family of Bucky (Melvin) Brine of Lower Coverdale announces his sudden passing on July 15, 2008. Born in Fredericton on January 5, 1941, he was the son of the late William and Gladys (Comeau) Brine. Bucky was semi-retired from his family business after more than 50 years service, Brine's Decorating and Upholstery. He was a Member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He was very involved in sports, having coached his son in hockey, coached Moncton minor basketball, played ball in Moncton as well as for St. Thomas University, the Universite de Moncton, Moncton Alpine's and Masters and Grand Masters senior teams later on. His family meant the world to him and when his grandchildren were born life just got better. He was incredibly close to his grandchildren. For the past 12 years he had spent all his spare time in the gym with his four oldest grandchildren Collin, Kate, Kris and Matt, all very involved in basketball, he was inseparable with his youngest grandchild Nathan. Bucky was more than an upholsterer, he was a master woodworker, expert plumber and an electrician - a regular Holmes on Holmes. He was a great Dad, friend to many and the best partner anyone could ever have. He will be forever missed by his family and his loving wife and best friend of nearly 30 years. He is survived by wife, Debbie (Odgen) , daughters; Leanne (Phillip Ward); Jo-Ann Brine (Moe), both of Moncton, NB; Jill (Alex Renowitzky) Vancouver, BC and son Robert (Sue) of Moncton, NB. Grandchildren Collin, Kate, Kris, Matt, Nathan, Ryan and Sarah. As well as sister Beverly Rosenberger, Austria and brother Bill (Lynne) of Shediac, NB. Visitation to take place on Friday, July 18, 2008, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at Cobb's Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, 869-2007. Parish prayers and sharing of memories will take place at 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass to be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 10:00am, Saturday, July 19, 2008, with reception to follow. Internment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Donations to the Friend's of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or Pro-Kids (Riverview) would be kindly appreciated by the family.
