Wayne Smith 1942 - 2008 Wayne Smith, 65, of Riverview passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at his home with his loving family by his side. Wayne was born in Riverside-Albert, Albert County on August 1, 1942, the son of the late Robert and Glendeen (Cochrane) Smith. He graduated from Riverside Consolidated School in June, 1960 and joined CN as a Messenger in July 1961. He obtained his Accounting Degree in 1972 and retired from CN in 1994 as Manager of Internal Audit for the Atlantic Region. Wayne was a member of the Railway Supervisors Association, CN Pensioners Association, The Society of Management Accounting, Air Force Vets Club, CN Tuesday Morning and Wednesday Evening Bowling Leagues, the CN Thursday Night Dart League (Hi Ho's), Annual CN Todd & Watts Teed Bowling Tournaments and the South Eastern NB Snowmobilers Association. He loved time spent in the great outdoors on his ATV and snowmobile. He was especially fond of times spent at the cottage in Cocagne Cape and at the camps in Caledonia and Silver Hill. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 30 years, May K. (Steeves) Smith; a son, Shannon and his wife Alison; a daughter, Danica Carson and her husband Allan;` his grandchildren, Rachael and Bradley Carson and Jackson and Henry Smith, all of Riverview. Also by his three brothers, Vernon (Sandra), Harris (Chandra) and Gregory (Cathie) all of Hillsborough; and by his several nieces and nephews. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 2:00pm. Interment will be in the Curryville Cemetery, Curryville, N.B. Following the Committal Service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Curryville Community Ourtreach Center (next to the cemetery) for further sharing of memories and for refreshments. For those who wish, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
