Helena Allain

Helena Allain Helena Allain, 84 of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Someren, Holland, one of 11 children, she was the daughter of the late Martinus and Hendrika van de Laar. She came to Canada as a young War Bride in 1946 and was proud to call Canada her home. She retired from the NBCC in 1988. She is survived by three daughters, Ricki (Louis) LeBlanc, Riverview, Rose (late Laird) Killam, Elgin, Rita Cormier, Moncton; and one son, Frank (Ethel) Allain, Hopewell Cape; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and two brothers in Holland. Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edgar, and by seven brothers and sisters. A service celebrating her life will take place Monday August 4 at 10:00 AM from Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center Memorial Chapel, 30 Whitepine Rd. (869-2007) with Fr. Phil Mulligan officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make donations in Helena's memory to Friend's of the Moncton Hospital, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of donor's choice.
